So I've got two weeks off from work. The problem is that I've planned to do so much in these two weeks, that its hard to actually do anything. I've got 16 training DVDs sitting in front of me covering topics from LightWave, Zbrush and Vue Infinite to character modelling, rigging and animation; but with a new nephew who's just 4 days old now, its hard to concentrate with so much going on.

All is not truely lost though, I've made a dent in the Blue Fusion work needed. I'm working on the CG intro shot. Here's the opening clip:

Then I've been working on a lego car which will be the basis of the next shot, as it drives across the surface of Mars.

But while I'm trying my best to get the most return from my time off, it has made me evaluate further what life would be like if I was fully freelancing and didn't have to try to find fragments of time left in my day to pursue a career in 3D. As I've mentioned before that there could be an opportunity for me to freelance in the near future; I think I'm almost ready to know what type of offer would make me seriously consider it.

But come next week I'll fall back into the old way of thinking and get on with, well, normal work. Oh well, can't win them all.
